Promises, promises.

Remember the days before iTunes? The days before you had the option to buy an individual song for 99ยข? When, besides a possible option to buy a single, you really had to buy entire albums? Sometimes I wonder if bands are even still concerned about song order; whether they think about how the album will play as an entire piece overall. Or, if bands just want to get that “one single” that will be played in commercials and recognized by bloggers everywhere. So many times I am enticed by the promise of a song I hear online, or on the radio, only to be completely let down by the album.

Below, three upcoming /releases I am really looking forward to. I hope they live up to the hype:

RJD2 – The Colossus (1/19)
RJD2 – Games You Can Win (featuring Kenna)

Freelance Whales – Weathervanes (3/16)
Freelance Whales – Generator 1st Floor

The Morning Benders – Big Echo (3/9)
The Morning Benders – Promises

  1. Another great picture! It’s interesting, because I think I always listened to singles, even before i-tunes. I would buy an album based on one single and only listen to the whole thing once or twice…itunes has just enabled me to spend less money! Interestingly, I’ve become more interested in whole albums as I’ve gotten older.
